Wedding planning week continued...

The rest of wedding planning week in Colorado was so fabulous!!! I told you already about my visit with the florist, who I am so excited to work with to help achieve my vision of my wedding venue. I am so much more excited for the wedding now that I've consulted with various other vendors, too.

First, I met with my planner, Johnna, who is a gem. She is so genuine in her anticipation and excitement for our wedding, that I am not feeling anxiety at all, but rather pure excitement for the results, and reassurance that she is on the same page as me! She is so vital in the planning process, and will assure that I have no worries wedding weekend, (like that is possible) but will allow for me to feel like I am taking a wedding "vacation" instead of just putting on a huge event with a lot of pressure attached to it.

Then I met with our DJ, Courtney, for a walk-through of the venue. It helped me to remember the set up and gave me a spatial idea of what the layout for the reception could be. I also met with her with Kyle, so she can really cater to our style throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She is super willing to work with our vision (ok, it is really MY vision), and is willing to try new things like with our slide show.

After all this, I had the opportunity to shop for tuxes with Kyle finally, and we chose one for our groomsmen! It was so easy, it was almost sad that it took us as long as we did to start to look.

On top of all of this, I designed the invitations, ordered our favors, planned the outline for the day of the wedding, tasted the rehearsal dinner options, set the contract with the hotel for the weekend of the wedding, and took in the mountain atmosphere (both figuratively and literally), enjoyed a Rockies game with my brother and his girlfriend, AND maintained my diet!!! I couldn't be more happy at the conclusion of the week.

I feel a total sense of accomplishment.

Rockies game! They have a gluten-free food stand!

We had some storm clouds but no real storms

More to come on the tuxes and the troubles, and the weekend of fun Kyle and I spent in the mountains!

Our Lovely Planner

Johnna herself!

Today I officially submitted our contract for our weekend-of planner, Johnna ('John-ah'), who I am very excited to have help me out on the weekend of the wedding. I did not know the options that were available for wedding planners prior to actually meeting with a couple and discussing the options. Although I am probably a bit too much of a perfectionist to completely let go of all the planning, I was more than excited to find that having a person coordinate the actual weekend is extremely reasonable in price, and will save me, what I hope to be, loads of stress and last minute snafus will go unnoticed.

As I believe I mentioned before, I met with this wonderous woman when I first went to Colorado after my engagement. She suggested a meeting at my absolute favorite coffee shop/bakery in all of Colorado, Blue Moon. It was fate. Then, when Kyle and I returned to Colorado for a second planning trip, we suggested a restaurant we had never been to in Frisco, but that was recommended by some locals, and it was HER favorite. Fate. She got the job when she sat through breakfast and completely put up with Kyle's requests for a juggler and his threat that there may be some debauchery occurring throughout the evening. Not only did she put up with it, but sarcastically egged him on! So if Kyle and Johnna can get along, I know I am set.

What I am most excited about is the list of tasks she will take care of for the weekend, anything from planning out an itinerary for our out-of-town guests (everyone) full of fun mountain activities to occupy their time, and getting all the place cards, table cards, centerpieces etc... before the wedding, so I don't have to be decorating when I should be pampering myself the morning of the wedding!

So Johnna, if you read this, we are more than excited to have you as a part of our day and appreciate you!
