About This Blog

The title of this blog may seem odd to some, I mean really isn’t everyone an “amateur bride”? I am not trying to insinuate that there are “expert” brides out there, but you and I both know that some people may fall into that category. More and more women are walking down the aisle more than once in their lives, and from what I’ve seen in magazines, research, and family, the second time around is vastly different in style than the first time (unless you happy to be a millionaire or Hollywood celebrity). I also mean that some girls have really studied the art of the wedding, have researched for years before their own time came, and have so much knowledge of labels and trends that they should just market their knowledge (some do, quite successfully). What I am writing about here is the experience of doing this, on my own, for the first time, and the thrills, chills, spills, and tears that come along with the experience. When I have my own daughters I can share with them the emotion of the time, and can hopefully in meantime garner some wisdom to impart to future brides near and far. But while I am still working through the process, I want to be a support for those of you out there who just need to know that you are not alone, and who can also share with me your similar emotions and experiences, no matter how bad or good. Let’s be there for each other brides!
